The Golden Bull (Aranybulla) Monument

Aranybulla sétány, H-8000 Székesfehérvár (Nagyszombati út)

According to tradition, King Andrew II proclaimed his famous collection of laws here on Csúcsos Hill in Székesfehérvár in 1222. This decree, outlining the rights and obligations of the king and the people living on royal estates, was the first such document after the Magna Carta of 1215.

For the Aranybulla Memorial Year, the monument, originally erected in 1973, underwent a complete renovation. A small recreational area was developed on the hill, including thousands of newly planted plants, a new pathway, resting areas, fire pits, and a terrace.

The site also offers wonderful panoramic views of the city, Lake Velence, the Velence Hills, and the Vértes Hills.
