Gárdonyi Log Castle and Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House (Agárd/Gárdony)
The Gárdonyi Log Castle is a miniature replica of the Castle of Eger, a prominent location in the novel Egri Csillagok (Eclipse of the Crescent Moon), written by Géza Gárdonyi.
The castle is located in Agárdpuszta, near Géza Gárdonyi’s birthplace. Visitors are guided through the castle and its defensive structures by the castle captain, offering a glimpse into the lives of medieval warriors.
Programs such as the "Castle Battle" and the "Knight’s Trials" provide an immersive experience that deepens visitors' connection to literature and history.
The Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House showcases the life and works of the novelist, who was born Géza Ziegler but adopted the surnname Gárdonyi in honor of his birthplace. His journals, notable editions of his works, and some of his personal items are displayed in the house.
