  • Sóstó Conservation Area
    Located on the southern part of the city, quite close to Hotel Szárcsa, the Sóstó Conservation Area welcomes the lovers of nature on 121 acres. The lake and its surroundings are home to as much as 70 bird species, some of which are protected. Visitors can walk through a 7-kilometer-long nature trail.

  • Park of medieval castles in Dinnyés
    Zoltán Alekszi began planning this park in 2012. It took a long time to study historical documents and to find a proper place for the implementation.   • Agárdi Pálinka Manufacture
    Agárd is a small town located on the southern side of Lake Velence, 15 kilometers from Székesfehérvár. Its Pálinka Manufacture was established in 2002 and soon became popular. Now it has a visitor’s center with various gastronomic programs. Our guests can try some of the products of the Agárdi Pálinka Manufacture in the restaurant of Hotel Szárcsa.

  • Wooden castle in Gárdony
    This castle is a miniature version of the famous Eger castle in the town of Gárdony, 15 kilometers from Székesfehérvár. The aim of its construction was to bring history and literature close to people. They organize programs such as quizzes, arts and crafts and even contemporary battles for children of different ages. The castle is open from April through November.

  • Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House
    The famous Hungarian novelist was born in this house in Gárdony city, which now serves as a memorial place of his life. Visitors can get acquainted with the working methods of Gárdonyi, contemporary furniture and tools and with some of his manuscrips, which are on display.
  • Granite stones in Pákozd
    These unique granite stones are located in Pákozd, north to Lake Velence. The geological formation is a popular station for hikers of the Velence Hills which has many marked hiking routes throughout the northern side of the lake.
  • Military Memorial Park of Pákozd
    Pákozd is located north to Lake Velence. This memorial park is dedicated to the Pákozd-Sukoró battle of the 1848-1849 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence. The exhibition introduces the main events of the war, the clothes and equipment of “honvéd” soldiers as well as helps the better understanding of the revolution in fall of 1956
  • Bicycle track around Lake Velence
    Cycling around the lake on the new bicycle track can be an enjoyable program for couples, families and friends. The distance can be completed in 4 hours without previous training and you can also stop to have a light lunch or an ice cream.
  • Thury Castle in Várpalota
    Várpalota is situated 23 kilometers west from Székesfehérvár. Its castle is recommended to couples, families and friends who are interested in history and traditions. Its collections introduce the contemporary uniform of soldiers, the life of the miners of Várpalota and they also organize various cultural events.
  • Csókakő Castle
    24 kilometers north from Székesfehérvár, this small village welcomes its visitors with its Gothic stone castle. It was an important strategic point in the early 13th century and was the second most important center of power. Due to its location, visitors can enjoy a beautiful scenery from the hill.
